Murchision Falls National Park
The Worlds Most Powerful Waterfall
Uganda’s biggest protected area is a 5,000km2 formed by Murchison Falls Park and the contiguous karuma and Bugungu Wildlife reserves. It is about 305km/5 hours drive by road from Kampala. Its Headquarters are found at Paraa about 85Km from Masindi Town. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park covers an area of 321 sq km and is among the oldest forests lasting over 25,000 years. Kibale Forest National Park
The Primate Capital of the World
Kibale National Park is found in Western Uganda. It is about 311km/5 hours drive by road from Kampala Uganda’s Capital. It is one of Africa’s best rainforest. It is a home of about 13 primates, and among them you will meet the Chimpanzees which have a DNA close to that of humans. Other wildlife species include; 70 species of mammals as well as over 375 bird species. Kibale is a popular destination for birders. A list of 335 forest, grassland and swamp species include 4 birds endemic to kibale and a number of Central African species at the eastern limit of their range. Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park is found in western Uganda. It is Uganda’s smallest wildlife park, but rich in wild game. From Kampala its about 240km/ 4hoursdrivebyroad. Semuliki National Park
The True Birders Haven
Semuliki National Park is located in western Uganda approximately about 287 km /8 hours on the road from Kampala. The forested, 220km2 Semuliki National Park occupies an isolated slice of Ugandan territory beyond the Rwenzori Mountains on the broad floor of the Albertine Rift valley. Thanks to the its oldages, the park protects one of the few remaining ecosystems to have survived the Ice Age. Semuliki links with the Congo Guinea biome representing the easternmost extentofCongo huge and ancient ituri Forest. It is home to around 52 species of mammals, 300 recorded tree species, 374 butterfly species, and over 400 bird species hence among the best birding spots in Uganda and that is why it is called the True birders haven.

Mgahinga National Park
Where Gold Meets Silver
Its size is about 38km2, making it Uganda’s smallest National Park. It has got one habituated transboundary Gorilla group. It sits high in the clouds at analtitude of between 2,227m and 4,127m. It forms part of a far larger, conservation area that protects wild life and habitats on the Virunga volcanoes in Uganda, RwandaandCongo. The park enjoys a magnificent setting on the Northern slopes of there of the Virungas six extinct cones; Mt. Muhavura, Mt. Gahinga and Mt. Sabinyo. The park is home to two rare primates, mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, both of which can be tracked through their forest habitat. The volcanic peaks can be climbed;the 4,127m Muhavura provides a stunning 360Degrees regional panorama while Sabinyos highest peak offers the rare privilege of standing over 3,600m high whilst in three countries at once. Lake Mutanda Experience

Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve
Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve is one of Uganda’s largest national protected areas covering an area of about 2043sq.km north of Mount Elgon and this makes it the second largest protected area after Murchison Falls National Park. Pian Upe is situated in the Karamoja subregion of Uganda in the north easternpart of the country in Nakapiripirit district. It can be easily be accessed by road from Kampala capital city via Mbale to soroti road which takes about 9 hours road andabout4-5hours from Mbale city town and 5-6 hours from kidepo national park to Pian Upe wildlife reserve. The closest operational airstrip is located in Amudat airstrip. The reserve holds the quite a number of wildlife species such as the impalas, girafes, plain zebras, common elands among others. Pian Upe is also a haven to a wide array of birds species with Ostriches being th unique and most sought after bird in the park. Covering an area of 2043 sq. Km, Pian upe wildlife Reserve is the second largest Protected Area (after Murshision Falls National Park) in Uganda andthelargestofallreserves. It is located in Karamoja, in eastern Uganda. The Reserve is characterized by dramatic and spectacular landscapes, comprising the volcanic mountain of Napak, the foothills of Mt Kadam, the inselburgs and hills adjacent to Girigirik River, the grasslands and wetlands around Lake OPeta, rivers and springs.This remarkable game reserve has hot springs of hot sprin and it is known as one of the incredible destinations with mercury wells at Mount Kadam. This tremendous wildlife reserve derived its name from the Karamojong local dialect which denotes “Friendly Enemy.” It is dominated by tree species likeredacacia, desert date, harrisonia Abyssinia, red spike throns and shrubs like buttterfly pea and wooly caper bush.
